We were able to try this carrier out with both the LittleLife sunshade and rain cover, and transported it in the car boot of our small Ford Fiesta for days out. As a contrast, the alternative way of stabilising a carrier on the ground is a flip out metal bar (Deuter carriers use these). Should the sun be too bright, then an easy access pull out sun shade is located just behind the head of your child. The wipeable material has meant I've been able to thoroughly clean the carrier after putting it down on muddy ground (thanks to our beautiful British summer) to allow my son to climb in.In my experience, older children tend to find this irritating and restrictive, but it is certainly helpful for protecting babies and sleeping children on a sunny walk.

The top two points are attached to the shoulder straps, and the bottom three points buckle out on each of the carrier, and at the front. The LittleLife Cross Country S4 is lighter in weight and features more comfortable fabrics than its predecessor, with a mesh material on the back panel and straps for optimal airflow and comfort while on walks.

Littlelife is a brand that has earned a reputation over 25 years for top quality baby and toddler back carrier equipment. Obviously one should never leave a child unattended in a carrier, but I do find the Deuter metal bar more stable if we are stopped with the child on the ground. While it lacks some of the handy features seen on more premium backpack carriers, such as a kickstand and integrated sunshade, the Cross Country S4 is both comfortable and secure for longer walks, and the ideal carrier for adventures with your little one.
