About this deal

All of the connectors are of good quality and are very robust. The negative battery terminal has a ring connector but the positive wire does not which is both odd and a shame. The wires leading from the battery end have an added coating of plastic covering to protect them as they are routed through your bike’s fairing to the handlebars. When I fit heated grips I consider them a permanent fixture, but with care, they can be removed safely and easily, though this does, of course, depend on how much glue is applied. Battery saving mode - protects against flat batteries, so if you forget to turn the switch off it will do it for you! Oxford has been selling its heated grips for a long time, and they’re proven extremely popular and effective for many thousands of users, from couriers to adventure riders.

In terms of warmth, the R&G heated grips had the fifth hottest heat output, measuring 44.7C on our thermometer after four minutes. Compare this with the 49.8C of the Oxford Adventure grips and it’s pretty impressive when you consider the price of these and the fact that if you shop around you can get them far cheaper. With bars that size you would need to use the Oxford Hot Hands - even the Cruiser grips only fit bars of 1 inchdiameter. The controller attached to the grip is a bit too clunky for my liking though there are four settings which are achieved by sliding the switch. A small LED on the throttle grip indicates whether the grips are working, but this is a bit on the small side and hard to see. Most waterproof membranes used in motorcycle gloves have microscopic holes that are too small to let water through, but will allow vapour from sweaty hands to pass from the warm environment inside the membrane to the cooler atmosphere outside. Heated grips can warm the moisture that becomes trapped in the glove’s outer, turning it into vapour that can then pass through the pores in the membrane and get to your skin. In Bennetts BikeSocial’s experience it’s only a potential issue for extended rides in particularly bad weather. Still, it’s worth being aware of this possibility. If you have heated grips and suspect your waterproof gloves are failing then you have a choice – warm damp hands or cold dry ones! Heated grips have been available for motorcycles for many years and there are plenty of options around. Here are some of the best alternatives to the Oxford HotGrips Pro…Our supplier isn't able to provide us with an exact temperature, however have stated that if used on the maximum setting, which is only advised when the temperature is below 0 Celsius, you will notice a sufficient heat coming from the grips. The handle bars on my 2008 kawasaki Z1000 measure in at 26.5mm, do you have any oxford heated grips thatfit? July 14, 2016

The new Oxford HotGrips Pro are very well designed, pretty easy to fit and offer great heat for winter rides or any time you want some warmth in your hands. - BikeSocial When it comes to working on bikes I wouldn't say I’m an amateur, but I'm not a professional – more someone who’s prepared to have a go. I couldn't get the left grip to sit where I ideally wanted (with the LED light directly facing me) because the heating wire fouled my bike’s cruise control buttons (see photograph in gallery above). There are several makes of heated grips on the market, each with different pros and cons as highlighted in this review . The main concern and first hurdle encountered by all is how complicated they are to fit. What I’ve found from testing the eight grips in this review is that it is not actually that difficult, and on average, if you don’t rush, you can have a pair fitted within 30 minutes. Yes, as long as the bars measure 22mm and have not been changed from standard. They may require trimming tofit. They're a present for my hubby and he is always around when I secretly try to measure the old grips on his bike! HOTGRIPS® PRO are the latest evolution of Oxford's vast HOTGRIPS® range - a fully integrated heated grip, which comes in 3 brand new grip patterns.

A great feature of the Oxford Adventure grips is the intelligent heat control which automatically switches the product off once the ignition is killed – stopping flat batteries. Thankfully, the controller is also very easy to operate.

The throttle side will be a bigger internal diameter than the clutch side to compensate for the throttletube.
