About this deal

Each BikeParka has the highest UV protection to keep the colour bright but you can extend its life by keeping it in the shade whenever possible. To clean your BikeParka, treat it the same as a good quality tent - sponge clean with warm water and a natural soap/ mild detergent, and don’t machine wash. It’s made from tough fabric so shouldn’t rip, but accidents can happen and if needed your BikeParka can easily be fixed with a tent repair kit. It wouldn't have been a problem for most road and gravel bikes, but was slightly at odds with Storm Skin's claim that the cover is suitable for most machines, including e-bikes and mountain bikes, which often come with bars wider than 65cm. This seemed a shame, as I could see this being very popular for e-bikes, given the protection it offers. Gives the best possible UP fabric protection, to help stop fabric breaking down in the sun and keep Bike covers are primarily designed to keep water off your bike, which over time can lead to corrosion. We all ride in the rain, and your bike won't dissolve if it gets wet, but if you are regularly storing your bike outside, either at work or at home, then a bike cover might be a good idea to protect your bike and stop the wear from accelerating. Which type of bike cover is best? This would be great to counter the noise and hassle of the tarpaulin and stall clips I currently use to cover my bike

This very much depends on your use case. If you only need to store the bikes outside at home, and don't need to bring a cover with you out and about then a large, sturdy option like the Storm Skin will likely be the best bet. Bike Parka are attempting to reinvent the bike cover, and make it just a little bit more desirable as well as functionally more effective. Exactly what I’ve been looking for! Great idea for bike storage, that looks like it takes up no more room than the bike itself!

Is it rip-proof? You want a sturdy, durable bike cover, not one which will tear with even the slightest bit of pressure applied. It would be ideal to cover my trusty Paul Hewitt touring cycle. It deserves a good winter coat after all the miles it has carried me. Our fabric has been engineered with the highest possible UV protection, but for maximum performance and long-standing wear try and avoid extended exposure to direct sunlight, especially in summer. We would recommend regular rotation of your BikeParka to maximise its longevity. Park my Perky Condor Tourer when Pouring and Parky in Urban Bristol Under a Blue Bike Parka, Please!

An often overlooked feature of bike covers is ventilation. It might seem like a good idea to seal your bike as tightly as possible, but condensation can wreak havoc over time. Moisture build-up causes rust, and if you leave your bike sealed up for long periods you might get an unpleasant surprise when you go for a ride. Look for covers with at least some ventilation flaps/valves to let condensation escape. I can’t carry my electric bike up front steps, so sometimes street is the only option , I and my bike desperately need the TLC of the Bike Parka Does it have grab handles? These can help when both adding and removing the cover, and also just for knowing the right way to position the cover if it otherwise seems unclear. Because of the cover’s bulk and weight, I’d be less inclined to lug it around when commuting. There are covers more suited to this purpose, and Storm Skin doesn't claim it to be a portable protection option. It's not really designed to be a travel cover either, so think more of it as bike protection for long-term use at home. Value and conclusionThe roof has been taken off the bike shelter at work so this could never have been more useful! Mine is a road bike with panniers. My only real issue was with the shape of the cover. In spite of being genuinely roomy, its shape meant it really did only cover the manufacturer's max stated handlebar width of 65cm. Other covers I have used have had a flatter top section above the bar, allowing you to eke out a little extra room – but not the Storm Skin. Keep Your Bike in Riding Shape: Best Bike Tool Kits ● Best Repair Stands ● Best Bike Pumps The Best Bike Covers To clean your BikeParka treat it the same as a good quality tent - sponge clean with warm water and a natural soap/ mild detergent. And don’t machine wash or tumble dry.

My precious road bike is currently garaged but with a leaky roof. The Bike Parka would come in handy. If its raining really hard while out and about maybe stop and put over bike and rider and wait for a gap in the rain 🙂 TeamObsidian’s offering has everything you could desire from a bike cover. The material is a particular highlight. It’s heavy duty stuff, fully waterproof and tough enough to withstand even the worst conditions. The product description proudly boasts that this cover will hold up against sun, rain, wind, snow, ice, dust and even hail. It comes with a two year warranty so TeamObsidian is putting its money where its mouth is. For starters it comes in a variety of shiny metallic colours. This may not seem crucial to all of you, but it's a cheery bonus that elevates this cover above the masses for me. More importantly, however, a lot of thought has gone into the structure of the cover itself. It's made from heavy duty 68D 21oT Polyester Ripstop, PU coated and seam sealed to make it more weatherproof, and it reputedly offers high UV protection. It stuffs into its own little bag, which comes complete with Velcro straps allowing you to fasten it to your bike frame if the mood takes you. Claiming to fit bike lengths of up to 195cm and height of 120cm, it's intended to be a one-size-fits-all product, while a drawstring and toggle at the top and elastication at the bottom help tailor the fit to any given bike. Looks great and great coverage of the whole bike. Most covers say they are waterproof but are not great so this will be handy. For all bicycle covers, waterproof qualities are essential. But here are some other pointers for you when deciding which to invest in: Proof that going budget doesn’t always mean sacrificing quality, the ZCOINS cover is one of the best on the market. It’s also a fraction of the price of its nearest competitors and comes with some fantastic extras. For the price, you’ll also get a bike bell, seat cover and drawstring pouch to hold them in. That’s not to mention the cover itself, which is made from robust, 210T nylon with PU coating. I have a amazing gravel bike – Genesis Croix de Fer – but need to keep it covered from the sea salt laden air! OOOH I need this so much. Bike currently outside getting hammered by the elements & I’ve lost two covers to the violent wind that hurtles up the side of our house. This would be a fantastic winter coat to cover my son’s road bike which needs a bit of comfort after many year’s of faithful use.

The big advantage of the Pro Bike is its size! It comes in three different sizes so you won’t have to worry about your bike being too large for the cover. Better still, you can choose between “stationary” and “travel” options. The choice simply boils down to whether you want three additional straps for carrying and a series of press clamps to stop air from getting inside the cover as you move. We recommend the travel option if you want to take the cover to work. I’ve literally just thrown my bike cover away, it had a massive hole in it due to the wind. Need a proper cover for my bike and this would do nicely. Exactly what I need to keep my bike clean and dry! How did you know I was going to look for something like this this weekend!? I have a Cyclemax electric bike which I love – and for that reason would very much appreciate the Bike Parka.

With popularity comes choice, though, from high range offerings that promise all kinds of features to cheaper options for the more budget conscious. There are also more types of cover than you might imagine, including rip/cut proof offerings and extra tough.
